LEEUWFONTEIN ESTATE
Leeuwfontein Estate, situated to
the northeast of Pretoria, is not far from Roodeplaat Dam, a very
popular recreational resort in the Pretoria area. If you are a lover
of water sport, Roodeplaat Dam is the place to be, where different kinds
of watersport can be practised like sailing, angling, rowing and
waterskiing. The Roodeplaat Dam is also well-known for various
freshwater fish that can be found here such as yellowfish and carp.
If you need to be near the city,
but don’t want to live in it, Leeuwfontein Estate would be the ideal
venue to consider. Situated approximately 20 km from the city centre,
various shopping centres such as the Kolonnade Shopping Centre, is on
your doorstep. Various new developments have taken place in the area,
while good schools, restaurants and hospitals are also nearby. It is
also situated on the N1 highway, giving you access to OR Tambo Airport,
about 45 km away. Also within reach is the smaller Wonderboom Airport.
The estate is approximately 172
ha, of which the biggest part is situated on the Edendale Spruit(brook).
The area consists of lush Bushveld vegetation and many tree species,
such as thorn, acacia and other are found here. Grass also grows very
high, and this forms the perfect pasture for antelope species, which is
also found in this vicinity. The climate of the region is ideal, being
hot in summer with afternoon thunderstorms to cool off the heat, and
mild winters. The Bushveld is a well- sought after escape in winter,
when the adjacent Highveld and other parts of the country can be
bitterly cold.
Leeuwfontein consists of 160
stands of which more than half is already built on. All the stands are
full title stands and prices range from R700 000 to R1.25 million.
Stands with houses built on it sell for approximately R1.95 million to
about R7 million for the most expensive ones. Another benefit of these
houses is that although you have close neighbours, they are not on your
doorstep. Houses may also not be fenced off. The estate has a network
of tarred roads throughout the state, also with a network of small
private dams in the estate. Water for these dams is pumped from the
nearby Roodeplaat Dam.
The Leeuwfontein Estate is
developed to be environmentally friendly and to preserve the Bushveld
atmosphere. Even the streetlights are only approximately 1.5 m high to
fit in with the environment, and all cables are laid underground not to
be visible to the eye.
The style of houses in the
Leeuwfontein Estate is natural, with thatched roofs and face bricks.
Lifestyle reminds one of the
game farm lifestyle, with abundant zebra, kudu, blue wildebeest,
blesbuck, duiker, impala, bushbabies, jackal, guinea fowl, meerkat and
lots of other small game species.
If you are an outdoors lover,
you will be glad to hear that there are various trails throughout the
estate, making your afternoon stroll a pleasure. The beautiful
surroundings will also contribute to you enjoying your stroll, and
getting that extra exercise that we all need.
Something that distinguish
Leeuwfontein Estate from other lifestyle estates is that it has extensive
equestrian facilities available for the horse lover. There are
beautiful horse stables available for horse owners to keep their horses
at very reasonable tariffs and where horses can be groomed as well.
There is also a homeowner’s
association that looks after the interests of the homeowners.
The safety of our loved ones is
of utmost importance to everybody. Therefore security is a great
priority to the developers of Leeuwfontein Estate. When we developed
this estate we ensured that the highest safety and security standards
have been complied with. Entry is controlled and access is only possible
with home owners’ consent.
Leeuwfontein Estate is the ideal
retreat for those who love nature, but to whom a luxury lifestyle is
